Born to an Acadian family on the eastern shores of Canada, in a small coastal community, Éveline grew up with the smell of the ocean and the wind of the waves in her hair. From the crayon to the paintbrush, she answered her natural instinct to create. From a childhood gently swayed by the tides, she moved in adulthood to the northern hills of New Brunswick. Here, the moss covered rocks, the forests and the woodland streams filled her senses in a new way.
Éveline Gallant Fournier's work is composed of imagined worlds and characters. Her paintings are windows that open on a symbolic universe. They are the visual expression of the poetry of dreams.
Creativity is a force of nature. I feel it in the wildness of my own spirit as my paintbrush dances on the canvas. Passion, curiosity and wonder are stepping stones on which I journey to an imagined world; this enigmatic realm where nothing is set ... where everything is possible.
