Katherine Jeans was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and has lived in Ottawa most of her life. She has traveled extensively and learned from many artists in many art forms including film, music, dance and visual art.
Her artistic career began as a director of film and television programs, more than 18 years ago, when she joined Sound Venture Productions as a partner. Katherine's work is shown and sold privately, publicly in galleries and has been featured in dramatic films in the US and Canada.
I paint based on intuition, or what feels right. I want to take you away for a few moments like a scene from a beautiful piece of cinematography. I enjoy movement and the pure elegance of color as it dances like lovely thoughts. (Katherine Jeans)
