Monique Bornstein settled in Villefranche in 1985. In 1994, she opened her workshop-gallery right on the top of the vault decorated by Jean Cocteau, a sign of the destiny! Monique is in love with this Mediterranean village. She is impregnated with these strong colors which bathe her paintings.
From her canvases emanate feelings of heat, bright light, the color of sun. It is generous, sincere, luminous.
When I was very young, painting fascinated me. I felt the need to paint like a poet feels the need to write, but a lot of hard work and discipline finally allowed me to express what I was really artistically feeling.
