Peter Fischer is an artist currently based in Ontario who has a deep love for the Maritimes, especially Prince Edward Island, and after numerous visits is always left with a strong desire to return. His work is essentially representational and realistic in presentation and tends to illicit a modern impression through careful composition, attention to detail and naturally occurring repeated shapes and patterns. The landscapes that are his focus do, more often than not, give the viewer a sense of serenity and calm. "I believe that we all need more of that."
Having started out early in life with a fascination for pencil drawing and lessons from a local artist in impressionistic oil painting, Peter has been painting and drawing for over forty years. The result of about twenty years as an independent photoretoucher and illustrator have nurtured the innate attention to detail and realism that is manifested in his work.
